Tekno Team Driver Spotlight: Jeff Portyansky

TH: How old are you and where are you from?
JP: I am 40. I currently live in Kingston, Ontario Canada. Moved here after meeting my wife while I was stationed at Fort Drum, NY. But was born and raised in Philadelphia. Go Birds!

TH: Favorite Class at the races?
JP: Nitro Truggy powered by the BLOK engine.

TH: Best moment with the Tekno Team?
JP: My best moment was when Matt privileged me to become the Canadian Regional Team Manager for Tekno.

TH: What are your racing goals for 2020?
JP: Outdoor racing in Canada is tricky enough, and now with this horrible virus going around the world not sure how much racing we will be doing. So the goal for now is to stay safe and healthy.

TH: Favorite Tekno Upgrade Part?
JP: Its not really an upgrade part, but rather a tool. The shock multi-tool is a must have. It truly makes life easier while building kits.

TH: Event you look forward to the most in the next year?
JP: I was looking forward to the QC Indoor Nats near the end of April, but it has been canceled due to Covid-19.

TH: Anyone you would like to thank?
JP: I would like to thank Danny and Matt from Tekno for the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful family of drivers, and trusting me in the role of team manager. Zac and Thomas for the hard work they do getting our orders out and answering any questions we may have. And the whole Tekno company. Joe Bornhorst for always being available to answer and questions I have. Local tracks/owners for all their hard work keeping a track running for us. Richard Cameron for being my travel buddy and just being a good friend. Would like to thank you for this interview and all that you do for our amazing hobby. And last but not least, my wife and kids for understanding what my hobby means to me and supporting it.
